The SmartMoney Summit 2008 is sponsored by the City/County Reinvestment Task Force. The one-day event is free, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The event is an opportunity to bring your papers, documents, questions, forms, and sit down with qualified, certified specialists in foreclosure, earned income tax credits and home ownership.
We will provide private sessions throughout the day. If you pre-register we may be able to schedule your appointment beforehand.
In addition, the event will hold a number of group workshops designed to offer some practical information on managing your personal finances. The scheduled speakers are qualified professionals from non-profit organizations and are not linked to products or endorsements of products.
Pre-qualification for Homeownership: This is an opportunity to pre-qualify for the purchase of affordable housing as well as down payment assistance. The event will establish a list of pre-qualified homebuyers for newly built or foreclosed homes that are currently owned by banks. Every effort will be made to achieve discounts for the purchase of homes.
Earned Income Tax Credit Sign-Up: Last chance to do your taxes and see if you qualify for the earned Income tax Credit. This credit is available for families with children under certain income levels. Attend and see if you qualify.
Foreclosure Assistance: HUD certified counselors as well as lender representatives will be available to assist you if you are about to go into foreclosure or are already being foreclosed upon. If your problem cannot be resolved at this event you will be given an opportunity to follow-up with a scheduled appointment.
